(Dallas, Ga. – Jan. 9, 2013) Chattahoochee Technical College’s Division of Economic Development will offer Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) classes at its Paulding Campus this March. The classes, which are OSHA compliant, emphasize hazard identification, hazard avoidance, control and prevent above and beyond OSHA standards.

“In today’s fast-changing business environment, delivering required training in an effective and timely manner is imperative to the success of any organization,” said Chattahoochee Technical College Economic Development Director Richard Goble. “OSHA requires that training be an essential part of every employer’s safety program for protecting workers from injuries and illness. At Chattahoochee Technical College, we are able to provide that training at a reasonable cost with dedicated and certified professionals teaching this community’s workforce.”

Two options are available for those in general industry, including a 10-hour course and a 30-hour course. According to Goble, the 10-hour course is for anyone up to front line supervisors while the 30-hour course is designed for supervisors and managers. At a cost of $175 for the 10-hour class and $329 for the 30-hour class, both include mandatory and elective topics led by instructor Robert Taylor. Certified by Georgia Tech, Taylor has more than 40 years of experience with these topics.

“Through these classes, we are providing resources to Paulding County’s commitment to supporting manufacturing and construction industries,” said Goble. “We hope to continue to grow the options and opportunities in this area.”

In addition to certificates, diplomas, and degrees, Chattahoochee Technical College offers non-credit courses which provide short-term, focused training for personal and professional improvement. Chattahoochee Technical College’s Economic Development division supports existing business and industry, entrepreneurs and new companies coming to the area in several ways. The division also offers contract training services to businesses and industries in our service area. Contract training can be provided on virtually any topic the client company needs to ensure that existing employees upgrade their skills to keep pace with a rapidly changing environment. This training is customized in content, teaching methodology, training schedule and delivery location based on the needs of the company. Common training topics include safety, leadership, management and supervisory development, industrial maintenance and technology, customer service and quality systems.
